2014: Coming To A Close

2014 is nearly over.. I cannot believe how much has happened this year- or how quickly it has gone by!

This has been a good year for me. There were lots of changes this year, and it made for a busy year that went by super fast.

On April 10- I got engaged to my best friend! My husband is very cute to me and loves to surprise me, and make things perfect for me. His proposal to me was so romantic, surprising and everything I wanted. I have the whole story posted here.

On June 6 - I got married! It was a huge change in my life. I am so happy with it. I love my husband, and our life together. It can be stressful sometimes trying to adjust to a new life that includes another person in everything, but it's so much fun and so happy! I'm not usually one for making big, life-changing decisions, because I get so comfortable with my current situations. But in this case, it was more comfortable, exciting, and happy to be marrying him. One of my favorite memories from that day is, as we were being married and listening to what we were promising, Trevor was holding my hand so tight and rubbing it with his thumb the whole time. I loved that! It was so cute to me. Most importantly, we are so thankful to our wonderful friends and family members who spent that special day with us, and helped us to plan and prepare. Here's more about that special day.

I went to Florida and Disney World for the first time, on our honeymoon. It was such a happy time and I wouldn't have changed a thing!

On December 1 - I left a job that I was at for almost 4 years (since May 2011), OrangeSoda. I did this in way that was really unlike me. I just quit- I had been thinking about it for a while since I was unhappy with the company and my job. One day I talked with my husband and we decided I would quit, even though I didn't yet have another job lined up. So we saved up for a couple of months, and then I put in my two weeks, and was outta there! It was hard for me to leave because I had made so many close friends there in the long time I worked there, but I was so ready.

On December 15- Shortly after leaving a job that I didn't care for, I started a new job and so far I am in love with it! I work at a high school for troubled teens, who are in the custody of the state. I'm so interested in social work and I love working with children, especially those who are from harder walks of life than most. My job is so much fun and so rewarding. I love making a difference in someone's tough life, and being there for them. So far, leaving my last job and starting a new one (though scary), was one of my best decisions.

Those are just a few of the big days I had this year.. I also turned 24, which was a big deal to me because I get very nervous about getting old.. haha! I spent lots of time with my amazing family, and writing letters/emails to my brother who is on a mission. I am still going to school and working on my degree, which is tough when I am also working full time and planning a wedding, but I am nearly done! This has been a blessed year because I am surrounded by people who I love! My family is my greatest blessing, and I am so thankful that they get to be a part of my memories this year- and every year!

HAPPY 2015!

MARRIED

June 6, 2014 was the best day of my life.

Disclaimer: This is going to be a very cheesy post, but I'm okay with that.

I couldn't really sleep the night before (June 5), because I was way too excited. When I finally got up to get ready in the morning of our wedding day, I was a lot more calm than I expected to be. I actually wasn't at all one of those nervous-wreck brides you see on TV (or at least, I didn't feel like one.)

Our wedding and reception were perfect. Exactly what I had hoped for. Everything turned out just how I wanted to and I was so happy with the day. Everything seems like kind of a blur now, since it went by so fast and my head was in the clouds. But I am so thankful to everyone who came to celebrate with us and all of the help people offered with the whole ordeal...
Especially to my amazing parents! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, a million times. They worked so hard and helped with absolutely everything to make sure I had the wedding of my dreams, and I am so incredibly thankful to them for that.

I am so blessed to be married to my best friend who I love with everything in me, forever!
