Travel

I know I have talked about this before, but I'm absolutely fascinated with other countries. I would LOVE to be able to travel the world (cliche, I know) and experience all the different sights and cultures.

I love looking at pictures of the nature, the fashion, the buildings, and the art of other places. And I know that pictures don't even do the real thing justice.

Italy

Japan

Norway

Ireland

Venice

Those pictures are all gorgeous- and courtesy of Pinterest. Seeing these places and spending time there with the people who live there would be so surreal and incredible- not to mention, educational. Time to start saving up!

Cupcake Maker

I got the cutest new mini cupcake maker and I love it! It's so cute and so fun to use. It only takes about 5 minutes to bake cupcakes and they turn out just as good as they would if you baked them in the oven. The cupcake maker got its first use baking hot chocolate cupcakes (chocolate cake mix with marshmallows baked in and marshmallow frosting.) They turned out so yummy and it was so quick!

I'm so excited to use it again and hopefully the next batch will turn out just as good!

Resolutions

Once again, it's time for New Year's resolutions. I have a list of some resolutions I've made for myself, some are big and some are very small. Either way those are things I want to change or improve about myself and I have set out small steps along the way to help me reach the big goal. Of course, we don't NEED a new year to set goals and make resolutions, but it definitely is a good time.. a new year means new change. As I've said in the past, one of the hardest things for me to do is "accept what I can't change." I have never been good at that, and I've always been one to stress about and try to change things that cannot be changed. This year, one of my biggest focuses will be to learn to accept what I can't change, and try not to hold grudges about those things.

That is a quote I found about the subject, and here is an even better one (according to me):

I'm excited about the coming year, although some of my goals will be hard to reach, I am excited about the end result.. more than excited! Here are a couple more quotes I found. (I know, I'm the queen of quotes.)

Good luck to all of us with our goals, and Happy New Year!

Happy New Year

In honor of the new year, I wanted to write a quick post about what I'm most thankful for. And that is my wonderful family. They are truly my best friends and I could not love them more than I do.

They are the most amazing people and I'm beyond thankful for them.

HAPPY 2013!

Christmas Treats

Last night I stayed up making Christmas treats to take to my co-workers, and painting my fingernails to look more festive. I made some chocolate-oreo truffles. They are super easy and really, really good. It's just a box of oreos (crushed), a box of cream cheese (softened), mixed together and rolled into balls. Then I dipped them in melting chocolate and rolled them in crushed candy canes. Some of them I just put different Christmas-looking sprinkles on, because I'm not a huge fan of candy canes.

Those are some pictures I took on my phone while I was getting the treats ready to take to work! Merry Christmas!

Make-up Obsessed... Again.

My obsession with make-up is apparent by now, I'm sure. My favorite thing to do is eye make up. I love eyeshadows and mascaras. Eyelashes are my favorite thing in the world.. haha. I decided to post some of my favorite make-up brands for different items that I've used.

MASH make-up brushes. These are a steal- like $25 on Amazon!

bareMinerals foundation, easily my favorite I've used.

Crown Brush eye shadow palete. SO pretty.

Tarte 'Amazonian Clay' Mascara.

My collection of make-up.

Clearly, I have an excessive amount of make-up in my collection. But it's because I always look for sales! Then when I can find it on sale for super cheap, I buy as  much as I can.. haha... I have a problem. Anyway, I just thought I would share some of my favorite make-up for anyone who might be looking to try something new- the stuff listed above is great!

2 Best Things in Life

I'm sure we all know that the two best things in life are Peanut Butter and Chocolate. So with that being said, one of my friends gave me a delicious and suuuuuper easy recipe for peanut butter-chocolate cookies. They literally take 5 minutes to prepare and they are divine.
The recipe is:
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
As soon as they come out of the oven you put a chocolate kiss (or any kind of candy you want, really) on top, and ENJOY!

In this case, I used plain Hershey's chocolate candy bars. And it turned out really well. My next project will be to re-create this recipe using nutella in place of peanut butter... so we'll see how that turns out.

These pictures obviously aren't the best quality (they were taken on my phone) but these cookies are delicious!
